Malone's to fill void at lively Crestview Hills shopping center
The building once occupied by Taste of Belgium at the busy Crestview Hills Town Center has sat empty for years ever since the restaurant closed in 2024. Now a popular upscale steakhouse is using this opportunity to expand into the Northern Kentucky market.
Malone's, owned by Bluegrass Hospitality Group, is opening a location at the old Taste of Belgium. The Lexington-based restaurant group currently operates four Malone's locations in Kentucky and one in Tennessee, but this Crestview Hills location will be the first in the Cincinnati area.
"Northern Kentucky has been on our radar for a long
time," a Bluegrass Hospitality spokesperson said. "Malone’s has strong brand recognition in the area, particularly among many people who attended the University of Kentucky and then moved back after graduating."
The restaurant's specialty is steaks, of course, but it also offers a variety of other dishes such as salads, seafood, sushi, sandwiches, appetizers and desserts.
In terms of ambiance, the spokesperson said the restaurant will feature "the classic Malone's feel," but also boast added touches, "elevated energy" and other specific design elements unique to this location.
"This location represents an exciting milestone for the brand, offering everything guests have come to know and love about Malone’s," the spokesperson added.

When will Malone's open?
Bluegrass Hospitality could not give an exact date for the restaurant's opening. The building is currently under renovation, but the group said it'll likely open sometime in late 2026 or early 2027.
Once open, it'll serve as one of the town center's anchor restaurants, along with Wings and Rings, The Pub, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Dewey's Pizza, McAlister's Deli and Panera Bread. The spokesperson said Bluegrass Hospitality believes Malone's can become a mainstay in the community for years to come.
"We believe in being part of the communities we serve," the spokesperson said. "When we expand, it’s because we see a long-term opportunity to build relationships, create careers, and deliver the level of hospitality our guests expect."
