Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki and his wife, Halle, attended the July wedding of Taylor Swift to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Gesicki talked to Bengals play-by-play announcer Dan Hoard about the experience, in a video shared via Twitter/X by the Bengals. Gesicki said they almost didn't reply because they thought the digital invitation was a prank.
"It was super cool," Gesicki added in the interview with Hoard. "Such a really, really unique opportunity with so many different faces and different people there. It was something that at some points I'm just kind of catching myself just like aggressively people-watching because there's just so many different names and different people that are there."
"So super appreciative of
Travis, you know, sending out that invitation," Gesicki added. "And, you know, when you're 10 years old and you're listening to music on the radio, you never think, 'Oh yeah, I'm going to be at that person's wedding.' It's crazy how it all comes together."
During a September appearance on the "Fitz & Whit" podcast with former Bengals Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth, Bengals center Ted Karras shared a story about Gesicki choking on a piece of steak, and Karras having to perform the Heimlich maneuver.
