Cincinnati among Frommer's Best Places to Go in 2027. Here's why
In Frommer's description of Cincinnati, the publication said the city "has long punched above its weight in the arts, and 2027 gives culture lovers several new reasons to visit," mentioning ArtsWave, the organization that has helped fund and sustain the region’s cultural scene since 1927, kicking off its 100th anniversary.
The celebration culminates in 2027 with 100 Days of Arts in the spring and other special programming, including the world premiere of Cincinnati Opera's "John Lewis: Good Trouble" in June. Frommer's also mentioned Cincinnati's newest music venue, the $160 million Farmer Music Center, which is set to open in spring 2027 adjacent to Riverbend Music Center along the Ohio River.
"Come fall, the Taft Museum of Art turns the spotlight on Robert S. Duncanson, the pioneering 19th-century Black landscape painter who made Cincinnati his home. Opening in October 2027, the retrospective – organized in collaboration with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts – is the first devoted to Duncanson’s work in more than 30 years," the publication's Lauren Dana Ellman wrote.
Lastly, Frommer's highlighted the renovation of Cincinnati's Lunken Airport Terminal, "which is expected to transform the now-shuttered landmark into a hospitality destination with a 34-room boutique hotel, restaurant, bar, patios, and event space – another reason to linger in the Queen City," Ellman said.
