Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow did an in-game interview with CBS' AJ Ross during Cincinnati's final preseason game, and he explained his recent remarks about bringing urgency to the upcoming season.
"I'm just trying to bring a different mentality to my game and to my preparation," Burrow said. "I'm trying to treat every day like it's now or never, trying to treat every day like it's my last. And try to go make it happen."
Ross asked Burrow about the Bengals being the only AFC North team to retain its head coach during the offseason.
"I really think we have a great coaching staff," Burrow said. "Those guys work really hard and give us a lot of answers to the test before we take it. … I really think we have one of the top staffs in the league."
Burrow enjoys having Joe Flacco and Josh Johnson in the QB room.
"It's
been a fun training camp," Burrow said. "Obviously, Joe's a unique character. We've gotten to know each other over the last 10 months or so. That's been fun. And then Josh comes in and has the career record for most teams played on. To have a guy with that much experience has been great."
Burrow said the Bengals got to eat well and bond as a team during their Philly visit.
"We got in a little late, but fortunately a little oyster bar in town stayed up for us," Burrow said. "And we had a nice dinner. And then we got some cheesesteaks today for lunch. So we had a good time."
