The Pickle Lodge has completed the transformation of its Lunken Landing property into a 17-court indoor pickleball destination, marking a major expansion of the sport's footprint near Cincinnati’s Lunken Airport.
The newly finished complex combines competitive play, spectator amenities and dining options under one roof, according to a community announcement.
The 60,000-square-foot facility occupies the former Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club and features 17 individually fenced courts with cushioned surfaces. Among them are two stadium-style championship courts, known as Alpha and Bravo, designed to host tournaments, league championships and other showcase events. Spectator seating surrounds three sides of each championship court, creating a venue
capable of accommodating larger crowds and competitive play.
The project has been developed in phases since opening in October 2025. The aviation-themed complex now includes the Sky Galley Bar and a new Taglio Pizza location, expanding the facility beyond traditional pickleball offerings. The pizza restaurant is scheduled to open Sept. 21, becoming part of the completed Lunken Landing experience.
“This is the Lunken Landing we envisioned from the beginning,” Pickle Lodge Cofounder Mitch Dunn said in the announcement. “We wanted to create something distinctly Cincinnati and different from other pickleball facilities – a place where people could play serious pickleball but also stay, eat, watch matches and socialize.”
Cofounder Joe Frank said the Alpha and Bravo courts provide a legitimate stage for championship competition while maintaining space for everyday players. The venue plans to offer leagues, clinics, tournaments, open play sessions, corporate gatherings and private events.
Lunken Landing is the third large-scale indoor facility operated by The Pickle Lodge. The company also operates locations in West Chester and Norwood. Programs are available for players of all ages and skill levels through the Ohio Pickleball Academy and other recreational offerings.
