Kroger is going all-in on its house-brand products, which now generate more than $1 of every $4 of sales at the Cincinnati-based retailer, as reported by the Enquirer's Alexander Coolidge. So, we decided to try some of them for ourselves.
To start off, we focused on condiments. And we didn't just taste them, we put them to the ultimate trial by fire. We tried them side-by-side against their name brand counterparts in a blind taste test. We enlisted Enquirer food and dining writer (and condiment connoisseur) Keith Pandolfi to see if he could pick out the name brand.
The catch? He got to take home the one he liked more. And spoiler alert, it didn't always go to plan. One of the Kroger products even had Keith saying, "This could change my life ...
Kroger, way to go."
See how it all shook out in the video at the top of the page.
