-- Cincinnati Reds All-Star shortstop Elly De La Cruz is facing a possible second stint on the injured list this year after exiting in the seventh inning Sunday (Aug. 30) because of "left quad tightness."
The extent of the injury was not immediately clear. The Reds led 7-3 when De La Cruz left the game, with second baseman Matt McLain shifting to short.
De La Cruz spent close to four weeks on the injured list in June because of a right hamstring strain. It was the first IL move of his career.
De La Cruz, who didn't miss a game in 2025, played through left quad tightness much of the second half that season.
