The 41st annual Joe Nuxhall memorial golf outing included 36 foursomes and some of Nuxhall's celebrity friends, according to event organizers.
Participants included Nuxhall's longtime Reds on Radio partner Marty Brennaman, Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott, former Reds coach Billy Hatcher, former National League Rookie of the Year Scott Williamson, former Reds player Doug Flynn, former Reds manager Dave Miley, former MLB manager and Hamilton Badin High School standout Jim Tracy, Reds play-by-play announcer Tommy Thrall and Reds public address announcer Joe Zerhusen.
The outing was presented by Playground Equipment Services.
Nuxhall, a Reds Hall of Famer and longtime analyst, started the outing to partner with Fairfield Community Foundation to give scholarship
money to Butler County high school students headed to college, "to show his gratitude for the region that raised him and revered him."
More than $1 million in scholarship money has been given to student athletes in the community.
On Sept. 4, at least 36 people will take part in a 21-mile walk from the Groh Lane Miracle League fields to Great American Ball Park to raise awareness and money for the Joe Nuxhall Foundation.
