Valvoline Global Operations has announced plans to create a new headquarters in Cincinnati.
As part of a larger corporate reshuffle, Valvoline Global will renovate 50,000 square feet of office space inside The Enquirer's old building
at 312 Elm St., according to JobsOhio. Its current Lexington location will be rebranded as its Americas Hub, a central site with 400 employees working on operations in Canada, the U.S. and Latin America.The 160-year-old company is known for establishing the world's first motor oil brand.
'A huge win for our Downtown'
"We are beyond excited to welcome the Valvoline Global team to Cincinnati,” said Mayor Aftab Pureval in a statement. “This is a huge win for our Downtown, for our local economy, and for the momentum our City and partners have been
working to build."
Up to 120 employees are slated to work out of the downtown Cincinnati office, with 54 full-time positions created as part of the move. The jobs are expected to generate over $10.4 million in new annual payroll by the end of 2029.
Office tower had been in foreclosure
In June, the26-story office tower was put up for foreclosure auction with its sister property, 312 Plum St., via the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The original lender took the building back for $22 million. The Enquirer moved out of 312 Elm into 312 Plum in 2023.
Valvoline Oil Co. already operates a production plant in Cincinnati's Riverside neighborhood and a distribution center in West Chester.
