Fall has just begun, but Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which dates back to 1782, and the Farmers’ Almanac, founded in 1818, have released their Thanksgiving weather forecasts, offering a first look at what Greater Cincinnati could see this holiday.
Here’s what they predict for Turkey Day and the winter ahead.
Old Farmer's Almanac vs. Farmers' Almanac Thanksgiving 2026 weather forecast
The Ohio Valley region, which includes Cincinnati and Columbus, is expected to start the holiday with warm temperatures and scattered showers. However, sunny skies and cooler conditions are expected by "the time the turkey is served," theOld Farmer's Almanacwrites.
The Lower Lakes region, which includes all of northern Ohio, will experience a chance of rain and snow during Thanksgiving week, along with
a "cool nip in the air."
The Farmers' Almanac, on the other hand, predicts that both regions will experience winter-like conditions on Thanksgiving, with scattered snow showers or flurries possible. Some brief travel slowdowns are also expected on Turkey Day.
