There should be no shortage of championship contenders in high school girls soccer in Greater Cincinnati this year.
Taking this week's action into consideration, here are the latest power rankings through
Sept. 15.
10. Notre Dame Pandas (8-3-1)
Last week: 2
The Pandas lost a tough 1-0 match to Highlands in a battle between the two best teams in the Ninth Region. They have allowed only six goals all season.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Simon Kenton (Sept. 16), vs. West Jessamine (Sept. 19), vs. Holy Cross (Sept. 21).
9. Highlands Bluebirds (4-4-1)
Last week: unranked
The reigning Ninth Region champions made a statement with a 1-0 win over archrival Notre Dame on Sept. 12. After a rough start, the Bluebirds have three wins and a draw in their last four games.
Upcoming schedule: at Newport Central Catholic (Sept. 16), vs. Campbell County (Sept. 21).
8. Ross Rams (9-0)
Last week: 8
The Rams have been rampaging through league play with a 4-0 record and have allowed only one goal overall this season. Maci Taylor has 10 goals, Mady Koeninger has seven, and Ava Bush has six with 14 assists.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Monroe (Sept. 17), at Bellbrook (Sept. 22)
7. Indian Hill Braves (7-0)
Last week: 6
Indian Hill stayed unbeaten with a 3-0 win over a strong Tippecanoe team on Sept. 12. Indian Hill has outscored its foes 24-2 heading into a big Cincinnati Hills League match with Mariemont.
Upcoming schedule: at Mariemont (Sept. 16).
6. Mason Comets (6-1-1)
Last week: 7
Mason has won four straight, three in league play, with a combined score of 22-0 and four shutouts. Bella Anderson leads a balanced offense with seven goals.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Mason (Sept. 10), vs. Harrison (Sept. 15).
5. Anderson Raptors (6-2)
Last week: unranked
After a rough start without top player Nina Brandon, losing two of its first three games, the Raptors have won five straight, four in league play to take the Eastern Cincinnati Conference lead. Ava Bergman and Maddie Boggess lead the offense.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Centerville (Sept. 21), vs. Winton Woods (Sept. 22).
4. Harrison Wildcats (7-1-2)
Last week: 5
Harrison has scored four goals in wins over ECC contender Milford and a strong Lawrenceburg team, then drew 1-1 with fellow Division II regional contender St. Ursula.
Upcoming schedule: at Cathedral (Sept. 19), vs. Seton (Sept. 23)
3. St. Ursula Bulldogs (6-1-2)
Last week: 4
The Bulldogs had a 1-1 draw with Division II rival Harrison Sept. 12, and had big wins over Mercy McAuley and Ursuline heading into a showdown for first place with Seton.
Upcoming schedule: at Seton (Sept. 16)
2. Summit Country Day Silver Knights (8-1)
Last week: 3
Summit has won four straight, including the last two by a total score of 11-2 heading into a big game at league rival Cincinnati Country Day.
Upcoming schedule: at CCD (Sept. 17).
1. Seton Saints (8-0)
Last week: 1
The Saints have been steamrolling everyone on their schedule so far, outscoring their eight foes 47-2, including 20-1 in three league games. Lou Guidugli has 10 goals and Mary Jung, nine. Seton faces its biggest test in league play, hosting St. Ursula Sept. 16.
