Seven weeks of high school football are over and with Week 8 on the calendar, the high school seasons in Ohio and Kentucky are only halfway over including the entirety of the postseason.
Just nine undefeated
teams are left in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Some threaten yearly for unblemished regular season records and some are undefeated this far into the season for the first time in a century.
Check out the facts on their undefeated runs so far and what's left on the schedule to keep a zero in the loss column for the 2026 regular season.
Beechwood Tigers (6-0)
Noel Rash's return to the Tigers has been fruitful so far with a 6-0 record and the top spot in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association's Class 2A.
The Tigers opened the season with a 42-0 win against Indian Hill and later outlasted Covington Catholic in a 42-35 shootout with Rash's 200th career win coming in between.
That win over CovCath was the only one of Beechwood's games this season to be within a score and that's majorly underselling it. The next closest game was a 41-3 win against Dixie Heights. Overall, Beechwood has outscored teams 292-45 this year (250-10 in non-CovCath games).
Wake Forest commit Emmett Queen has gone 71-of-92 passing for 1,178 yards and 13 touchdowns with just one interception and one sack. Kentucky commit Tyler Fryman has 33 catches for 570 yards and three touchdowns with another six rushing scores. Nathan Pabst leads with 398 rushing yards and eight touchdowns with six more receiving scores.
Defensively, Kingston Brockett has four of the team's 10 sacks and Anderson Durrett and Fryman each have two interceptions.

RPI standings: 0.82042 (1st in Class 2A)
Cincinnati College Prep Lions (7-0)
It will be an undefeated battle on Oct. 10 when Cincinnati College Prep and Hughes lock up.
The Lions are coming off of a 26-21 win against Dayton Christian, their only win against a team over .500. After Hughes comes one-loss Gamble Montessori, giving the Lions plenty of chance to prove their standing amongst undefeated teams and get a boost in the Region 24 standings where they sit behind Portsmouth West.
Junior quarterback Kemmarion McCray has completed over 67% of his passes for 1,367 yards and 15 touchdowns to one interception. Two rushers, Carlito Houston and Ramik Bell, each have over 320 rushing yards and Kendrick Napier has over 500 receiving yards.
Senior lineman Sir Michael Miller has 45 total tackles, 14 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks.
Remaining schedule: Oct. 10 vs. Hughes, Oct. 15 at Gamble Montessori, Oct. 23 at Wheeling Central Catholic (WV)
Playoff point standings: 12.3196 points (2nd in Region 24)
Dayton Greendevils (6-0)
The Greendevils have thrived so far with a good defense (allowing just over 10 points a game) and an experienced running attack led by junior Malachi Kennedy and senior Kaden Anderson.
Dayton has over 1,800 rushing yards to its credit so far and Kennedy leads with 664 yards and 13 touchdowns and Anderson has 534 yards and six touchdowns. Amillion Brown also has 227 yards and five touchdowns on 15 carries.

Deer Park Wildcats (7-0)
Deer Park started 5-0 in 2025 before losing its next six games, including a 54-15 loss to Anna in the postseason. This year, head coach Tucker Berger's team got over the 5-0 hump to a 7-0 start to the season.
The Wildcats need to get through 1-6 Taylor on Oct. 9 before their big tests against also undefeated Wyoming and 5-2 Indian Hill. Those two programs have combined to win the last 13 Cincinnati Hills League championships.
Senior quarterback Tink Sellers has thrown for over 600 yards with 11 touchdowns and run for over 400 yards with seven touchdowns.
Junior Morgan Brown, who broke the school's scoring record earlier this season, has run for 833 yards on 84 carries with 10 touchdowns. Brown's also returned two kicks, scoring on returns of 90 and 72 yards. He also has a pair of sacks and 11 tackles for a loss on defense. Sellers also gets in on defense where he has five picks, including two returned for scores. Not to be outdone, Brown also has two pick-sixes.
Remaining schedule: Oct. 9 vs. Taylor, Oct. 16 at Indian Hill, Oct. 23 vs. Wyoming

Goshen Warriors (7-0)
The Goshen Warriors have not scored fewer than 34 points in a game this year (scoring 40 or more six times) and have not allowed more than 14 points in a game (seven or fewer five times) this year.
Goshen's playoff standings have taken somewhat of a hit (they are fifth in Region 12 behind three teams with a loss) as just Blanchester has a winning record among the 10 teams on their schedule and four of their wins coming against Division IV or V teams.
The Warriors could have a 10-0 season come to fruition with back Gage Croley averaging over 10 yards an attempt on 84 rushes with 15 touchdowns and quarterback Caden Slusher tossing 13 touchdowns with 906 yards.

Remaining schedule: Oct. 9 at Clinton-Massie, Oct. 16 vs. Wilmington, Oct. 23 vs. Western Brown
Playoff point standings: 12.1929 points (5th in Region 12)
Hughes Big Red (7-0)
After going 4-6 a season ago, new head coach Jalen Engleman took over from his uncle Lorenzo and has yet to take a loss this season.
According to Joe Eitel, Hughes is off to its first 7-0 start to a season since 1924. The Big Red have beaten just one team with a winning record, but have the last third of the schedule full of better games.
First, Hughes sees Cincinnati College Prep, also 7-0 on Oct. 10. Six days later comes Withrow who has won the last four over Hughes by a combined 176-7. The regular season for Hughes ends against Division I Western Hills which could give the Division III Big Red some extra postseason points.
If my research is correct, Hughes football is off to its first 7-0 start since 1924!

The 1924 Hughes team was coached by Edward "Red" Krueck, assisted by Arch McCartney.@Hughes_football @JalenEngleman32 @MikeDyer @OHSAASports @BIGREDATHLETICS

North College Hill Trojans (6-0)
In their first season under Tyler Williams, the North College Hill Trojans have allowed just a field goal in their first six games. The Trojans, who had their Week 1 contest with Fairport Harding canceled, opened the season with five-consecutive shutouts before a 43-3 win at Summit Country Day in Week 7.
A 300-3 scoring advantage included the win over 4-2 Summit, a 54-0 win over Division I Western Hills and a 61-0 win over Division II Belmont. The strength of schedule is not strong, but the Trojans have done serious work in showing their power despite it.
Chris Bradley Jr., a Lakota West transfer and Indiana commit, has thrown for seven touchdowns and 428 yards on 36 attempts and has two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and a fumble recovery on defense.
Remaining schedule: Oct. 9 vs. Clark Montessori, Oct. 16 vs. Cincinnati Country Day, Oct. 23 at Norwood

They opened the season Paycor Stadium with a 31-24 win over Moeller, beat Lakota West 27-24 despite being on the wrong side of a 6-0 turnover ratio and had a 28-7 win over Middletown in their conference opener.
Taft transfers Monsanna Torbert and Key'Sean Torbert have combined to pass for over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns while La Salle transfer Jordan Hall has run for 558 yards and 16 touchdowns on 76 carries.
The new pieces have the Vikings in shape for their fourth-straight Greater Miami Conference title with their first trip to the state tournament since 1990 a possibility as well.
Remaining schedule: Oct. 9 at Hamilton, Oct. 16 vs. Oak Hills, Oct. 23 vs. Fairfield
Playoff point standings: 22.5000 (1st in Region 4)
Wyoming Cowboys (7-0)
The program with the highest winning percentage in OHSAA history and closing in on 800 victories is no stranger to 7-0 starts. The Cowboys had a 48-47 overtime shootout win over Indian Hill and a closer than normal 21-13 win over one-win Taylor the next week, but the team has been rolling again.
On the hunt for its 17th Cincinnati Hills League title since 2000, a Week 10 meeting with also undefeated Deer Park could be the last hurdle to that feat.
Senior quarterback David Dupee is in his third season starting and he has been masterful, completing 102 of 139 passes for 1,578 yards and 20 touchdowns to two picks. Jonas Whalen has run for 676 yards and nine scores. Brylan Miltenberger has 685 yards and six touchdowns on 34 catches and Donovan Brown has 533 yards and 11 touchdowns on 30 catches.
