Meteorologists say fall begins Sept. 1, but another round of summer heat will usher in the new month.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the heat index could reach 104 degrees in Greater Cincinnati.
Much of the region is under aheat advisory from 2 p.m. Tuesday through 8 p.m. Thursday as high temperatures and humidity increase the risk of heat-related illness.

Officials urge residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned spaces, avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and check on relatives and neighbors.
Anyone spending time outdoors should take extra precautions and limit strenuous activity to the early morning or evening hours. Seek medical attention if symptoms of heat exhaustion
or heat stroke develop.
Heat advisory conditions could continue into Friday, especially across southern counties. A gradual cooldown is expected over the weekend, with temperatures returning closer to normal early next week.
Strong to severe storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening. Atmospheric instability could also lead to stronger storms Friday evening. Some instability could also lead to stronger storms on Friday.
Storms may develop into the area Thursday afternoon and evening. At this point in time, it is highly uncertain if that will occur. But if it does, conditions will be favorable for some strong to severe storms. pic.twitter.com/wnfuiQQqi3
