With the Ohio high school football regular season now having six weeks in the books, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has released its official computer ratings for playoff pairings for Sept. 29.
The formula for determining the numbers can be studied here.
In short, teams get credit for each win they get and for each win their opponents get, with more points credited for bigger schools.
The Cincinnati area has teams in seven regions. The top 12 teams in each region qualify for the playoffs, with the top four receiving first-round byes. The full ratings are available on the OHSAA site.
Division I, Region 4
Princeton, now the only undefeated team in the region after Elder’s last-second loss to St. Xavier, holds the top spot. Elder, Lakota West and Lebanon, all
5-1, have the next three byes. Winton Woods, St. Xavier and Moeller are all within striking distance of the top four. Springboro has the last playoff spot, and Little Miami is right behind as the only team with three wins or more on the other side of the bubble.

Andreson and Harrison have the top two spots. Badin and Talawanda, both 5-1, plus 3-3 La Salle are in striking distance of the top four. Edgewood is in the playoffs, while Kings and Turpin are tied for the last spot. They meet in Week 9.

Three undefeated teams – Goshen, Hughes and Northwest – lead the playoff teams, and Northwest has the last bye spot in fourth. Indian Hill and Monroe, both 4-2, have the last two spots but are comfortably ahead of 13th place.

Undefeated Wyoming has a big lead on everyone else in the top spot. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is second. Undefeated North College Hill is just outside bye position. Wilmington and New Richmond, both 3-3, are comfortably in playoff position at the moment.

Fenwick is comfortably in the playoffs at the moment. Madeira, Mariemont and Purcell are on the other side of the bubble and need some big wins down the stretch.
