Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said receiver Tee Higgins is "day to day" with an adductor injury he suffered during the fourth quarter of the team's NFL Week 4 loss to Jacksonville.
Higgins' status isn't known for the Bengals' Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. The Bengals have a Week 6 bye.
Higgins got up slowly after a 19-yard catch near the sideline from quarterback Joe Burrow. He got up, but then went back down on the field and required attention from team medical personnel.
Higgins remained on the sideline for the Bengals' next play. He returned to the game later in the drive, and made a catch on his first play back in the game.
"You can tell he's not quite 100 percent," CBS analyst Robert Turbin said of
Higgins during the broadcast.
Higgins had a game-high 10 catches for 140 receiving yards before the injury. He added a 17-yard catch later in the drive. His total of 157 receiving yards is second only to the 194-yard game he had against Baltimore in 2021.
Higgins, who has 16 regular-season 100-yard games, was not on the field for the Bengals' final drive of the game.
Earlier in the game, teammate Ja'Marr Chase had his facemask grabbed by Jaguars defensive back Jarrian Jones. Chase went to the ground and took a big hit from linebacker Ventrell Miller.
Chase left to be evaluated for a concussion and did not return. Turbin said he couldn't believe Miller's hit on Chase didn't draw a flag.
Higgins made a remarkable touchdown catch from quarterback Joe Burrow late in the second quarter of the team's NFL Week 3 loss to Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium. It was among the most impressive NFL catches by Higgins.
In March 2025, Higgins agreed to a four-year contract extension with the team. Higgins, Cincinnati's second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, is entering his seventh NFL season.
