Skyline Chili may be a Cincinnati staple, but Bengals wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins say they're passing on it.
In Episode 2 of Chase's podcast, "Chasing No 1," co-hosted by Annie Agar, he and Higgins shared their thoughts on Skyline Chili and highlighted some of their favorite Cincinnati-area restaurants.
During the Sept. 9 episode, both players said they dislike the local chain, with Chase stating, "No disrespect to Skyline, but I ain't eating no chili with cinnamon in it."
"You know they also put chocolate in their chili?" Higgins replied.
"That's a bad situation," Chase added.
The Bengals stars also questioned one of Skyline's signature toppings: the mound of shredded cheddar cheese. Chase and Higgins said they don't understand
why the cheese is cold and not melted.
While neither player is a Skyline fan, both said they enjoy several local restaurants. Chase cited Noche in Covington and Sotto in downtown Cincinnati among his favorites. He also gave a shoutout to Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, where he has been spotted dining several times in recent years.
Higgins, on the other hand, said he enjoys the Turf Club in Linwood and described the restaurant's filet burger as "fire." He added that he "obviously" likes Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse and Frankie's Sips & Savories in downtown Cincinnati.
Chase agreed with Higgins' praise for the Mediterranean restaurant, and the two wide receivers went on to name some of their favorite dishes, including the lamb chops, steak, whipped burrata and hummus.
"Shoutout Frankie's," Higgins said.
