The Greater Cincinnati area is under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight July 28, according to the National Weather Service.

Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Southeastern Indiana counties are included in this severe thunderstorm watch. The weather service said wind up to 70 miles per hour is likely. Tornados and isolated hail up to the size of a quarter are possible.

Ohio's Hamilton, Brown, Clermont, Butler and Warren counties and Northern Kentucky's Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties are included in the watch. Southeast Indiana's Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland counties are also part of the watch.

A severe thunderstorm watch means that a severe thunderstorm is

possible. The weather service says to be prepared and be ready to act quickly if the next level, a warning, is issued.
