Periods of showers and thunderstorms will keep Cincinnati's weather unsettled through the weekend, with heavy rain posing a greater threat than severe weather.
Storms that lingered overnight will redevelop Friday, Aug. 7, as warm, humid air remains in place across the Ohio Valley. While an isolated strong wind gust is possible, slow-moving storms are more likely to produce locally heavy rainfall. Areas that see repeated rounds of storms could experience flooding issues, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
After a brief lull Friday night, additional showers and thunderstorms are expected Saturday, especially from late morning through the afternoon and evening.

Scattered storms remain possible Sunday, with the best chance developing during the late afternoon and evening.
Looking ahead, storm chances continue Monday through Wednesday as moisture increases across the region. Some stronger storm systems may develop, but details on timing and severity remain uncertain.
By the second half of next week, cooler, drier air is expected to move into the Ohio Valley, bringing lower humidity and a break from the persistent rain chances.
