Greater Cincinnati's gas prices increased, again.
The average price per gallon in Brown, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties went up by 18 cents overnight. Expect to pay $4.50 per gallon on Sept. 17, up from an average of $4.32 the day before, according to AAA data.
Greater Cincinnati's current average price for regular unleaded gas is about 59 cents away from the highest recorded average price of $5.09, which occurred in June 2022, AAA data shows.
Multiple stations around downtown Cincinnati were selling gas at $4.59 the morning of Sept. 17, according to the GasBuddy app.

If you are looking for lower prices, United Dairy Farmers will temporarily reduce the price of its gasoline by 40 cents on Sept. 17 between 3 and 7 p.m.
Why are gas prices rising?
The main reason
gas prices are surging is the Iran war, according to a USA Today report. The war has disrupted transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a Middle Eastern waterway used for transporting a large percentage of the world's petroleum.
Since war erupted in the region, there's an international supply bottleneck that has driven gas prices to historical highs in America. California is at an average of $6.03 a gallon. Prices in states known for cheaper gas, like Texas, are at an average of $3.87 a gallon.
