Cincinnati Bengals safety Bryan Cook was injured during the first quarter of the team's NFL Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
Cook was on the sideline after having his ankle taped during the Steelers' second scoring drive of the game. He was replaced by Kyle Dugger.
Cook is a former Mount Healthy High School standout and Cincinnati Bearcats defensive back.
Cook agreed to terms March 9 on a reported three-year deal worth $40.25 million.
"My family's been talking about this for a long time," Cook said March 12. "Being able to come back home and … be closer to our family. I'm just excited for the opportunity, excited for the new chapter in my life."
Cook was at Kansas City's T-Mobile Center to watch the ninth-seeded Bearcats'
men's basketball team defeat No. 16 seed Utah in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.
Cook starred at UC from 2019 to 2021 before becoming a second-round pick of the Chiefs in 2022.
