Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Jacob Parrish suffered a back injury during the second quarter of the team's NFL Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.
Parrish remained down at the end of a play. He left the field under his own power.
Parrish was injured as he tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. Parrish's head jerked back as Higgins' heel appeared to make contact with Parrish's chin.
The Bucs announced later in the first half that Parrish was questionable to return.
The Bucs' inactives against the Bengals included RB Sean Tucker, WR Jalen McMillan, T Justin Skule (injured); CB Ayden Garnes, DL DeMonte Capehart, DL Elijah Simmons, G Billy Schrauth.
McMillan, Skule and Tucker had been listed as doubtful on the team's injury
report.
The Bucs elevated safety Ifeatu Melifonwu and running back Josh Williams from the practice squad for the game.
