The driver of a Metro bus was charged in a July 16 crash that killed a Cincinnati maintenance worker.
Kyle Brandon Taylor was arrested and charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter on July 23, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office release. He was behind the wheel of a Metro bus traveling west on Ohio 562 on the Norwood Lateral that crashed into a city truck, according to the release.
"Tyler allowed his bus to strike the rear of a Ford-F250," the incident report stated. "The trailer being towed had three city workers on it as they picked up advanced warning signs for a work zone."
Jonathan Young, 46, died at the hospital as a result of the crash. He was hired in 2002 and worked as a supervising traffic worker within the Department
of Public Services.
Taylor is first set to appear in court on July 24.
He's been previously cited for with traffic violations, including running a red light, speeding, among other violations, according to Hamilton County court records.
A Metro spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
