A 235-foot-long dam in Clermont County is being removed, officials said.
Built in 1941, the Cloverlick Dam was once used to create a water supply for residents. Now, the pumphouse is broken and it poses a danger to swimmers and boaters.

The Village of Bethel announced the dam's removal on Oct. 20.
It will cost $2.7 million in state and federal money to restore the stream, according to Bethel officials. The pumphouse will also be removed.
The dam, which is 14 feet high, impacts the natural migration of certain fish species, which are prevented from entering William H. Harsha Lake. It also threatens to trap boaters and swimmers underwater due to strong under toe it creates, a release states.
The dam will be "notched" this December, meaning piece of
the dam will be removed to start to restore the natural water flow. The project to fully remove the Cloverlick Dam is expected to be finished by fall of next year, officials stated.
