Local 12 (WKRC-TV) is adding new programs and reshuffling its anchor lineup.
The station announced Tuesday that it will add an hour of local news with "Local 12 The Breakdown," premiering Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. The program will be co-anchored by Marella Porter and Adam Clements.
Additionally, the station is launching "Local 12 News: Beyond the Podium" on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 8 a.m. James Pilcher will host and produce the new half-hour political and public affairs program.
Clements will continue co-anchoring Local 12 News at 4 p.m. alongside Meghan Mongillo. Kyle Inskeep will join Mongillo at 5:30 p.m. and will continue co-anchoring the 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts with Paula Toti.
The station also announced that Rebecca Smith will join Local 12 as
a health reporter and host of "What's Happening in Health," a weekly series airing Sundays at 6:30 a.m. Jen Dalton will also join the anchor desk for "Local 12 News at Noon."
Before the recent announcement, Local 12 underwent several staffing changes this summer.
First, longtime reporter Tyler Madden left the station after three years on air. His final day was June 18. Then, former Local 12 reporter Chelsea Sick left after four years on air on July 31.
Cassy Arsenault, another reporter, also departed Local 12 on July 22. Then, Marella Porter revealed on July 19 that she would be transitioning from a weekend anchor to weekdays.
Longtime investigative reporter Duane Pohlman shared on July 27 that he would be leaving Cincinnati for Louisville. However, he continues to make the trek for his Queen City newscasts.
Local 12 also ended its weekend morning newscast and laid off several employees on July 11.
