CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein and Cincinnati sports personality Ken Broo are among those expressing displeasure over the fact that there won't be a live video stream available for CareSource Invitational exhibition games scheduled to take place on the outdoor basketball court at Mason's Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Cincinnati is scheduled to meet Ohio State on Wednesday (Oct. 7) at 3 p.m., and Xavier is scheduled to play long-time rival Dayton at 5:30 p.m. in the event, which is raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention.
"LOVE: The exhibition doubleheader of Cincinnati/Ohio State and Xavier/Dayton on Wednesday in Mason, Ohio," Rothstein tweeted. "HATE: There is NO Live Stream. We have our first miscarriage of justice during
the 2026-27 season!"
"Why wouldn't a promoter/organizer of this event have some sort of television coverage?" Broo tweeted. "It's more than inconceivable. It's just plain stupid. Forget ESPN, etc. People live stream themselves cooking dinner and mowing their lawn. But not this?"
The games are expected to be moved to UD Arena in Dayton if there's inclement weather. It will be the first basketball event at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, which hosted the Cincinnati Open in August.
