Democrat Amy Acton thumbed her nose at Ohioans by refusing to debate Vivek Ramaswamy, who challenged her to two debates: one with CNN and the other with local NBC affiliate WLWT – hardly far-right outlets. Ramaswamy knows voters deserve to know his vision for Ohio, and he’s not afraid to take his plan directly to the people of the Buckeye State. Meanwhile, Acton has decided Ohioans aren’t worth her time.
Ramaswamy has been traveling the state for months. He visited all 88 counties in the first year of the campaign alone, and he’s holding open town halls and unscripted question-and-answer sessions with voters at nearly every stop. Acton has never held an unscripted event and instead hides behind a rope line and teleprompter.

Why? She knows that voters will instantly see through her phony facade and realize what we’ve known since the COVID-19 pandemic − she’s unprepared and wholly unfit to be governor.
Acton wants Ohioans to believe she’s ready to lead the country's seventh-largest state. Still, instead of telling voters where she stands on key issues, she’s chosen to keep hiding rather than engage in a robust, substantive debate with her opponent.
If she won't face voters now, why should anyone believe that she has the mental clarity to govern?
The governorship is not a ceremonial job. Leadership requires showing up, answering tough questions, and being accountable to citizens who rely on you. When November comes, Ohioans should remember the contrast: Vivek Ramaswamy showed up for them. Amy Acton hid from them.
