Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz hit a home run out of Great American Ball Park in the ninth inning of his team's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers that measured 457 feet.
Fans naturally wondered how that compares to the longest home runs in GABP history.
There were three homers hit before Statcast started measuring them in 2015 that are considered the longest in ballpark history.
Adam Dunn hit the longest home run in GABP history
Adam Dunn hit a homer an estimated 535-foot blast on Aug. 10, 2004. According to the Reds' media relations department, the ball cleared the batter's eye, bounced onto Mehring Way and came to rest on a piece of driftwood in the Ohio River.
Juan Francisco cleared the right-field stands with a homer on Sept. 12, 2011 against the Cubs' Rodrigo Lopez and reportedly had his ball
come to rest in a tree beyond Mehring Way. His ball traveled an estimated 502 feet.
Wily Mo Peña's home run April 17, 2005, off of the Astros' Brandon Duckworth traveled an estimated 498 feet.
Longest Statcast-era home runs at GABP
On April 12, 2018, the Cardinals' Paul DeJong hit a 464-foot homer off the Reds' Austin Brice. Statcast later determined the ball traveled 486 feet, making it the longest at GABP of the Statcast era.
The Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez hit a 473-foot home run off the Reds' Wandy Peralta June 5, 2018.
On Sept. 8, 2015, the Pirates' Jung Ho Kang hit a 472-foot homer against the Reds' Collin Balester.
Aristides Aquino hit a 469-foot homer Aug. 10, 2019, off of the Cubs' Dillon Maples off the facing of the second deck in deep, left-center field at GABP.
On Sept. 27, 2021, Joey Votto hit a 466-foot home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates' Cody Ponce.
On March 31, 2018, the Nationals' Matt Adams hit a 460-foot homer against the Reds' Luis Castillo.
On May 21, 2021, the Reds' Tyler Naquin hit a 459-foot shot off of the Brewers' Adrian Houser.
On July 9, 2024, the Reds' Rece Hinds hit a 458-foot home run against the Rockies' Justin Lawrence.
On June 23, 2023, the Braves' Austin Riley hit a 458-foot homer against the Reds' Lucas Sims.
On June 24, 2024, the Pirates' Oneil Cruz hit a 458-foot homer against the Reds' Fernando Cruz.
On June 7, 2023, De La Cruz hit a 458-foot homer off the Dodgers' Noah Syndergaard. It was De La Cruz's first MLB home run.
In 2019, Eugenio Suárez crushed a 457-foot homer to the ballpark's riverboat deck above the batter's eye in center field off Chicago Cubs lefty Jon Lester.
On May 22, 2016, the Reds' Adam Duvall hit a 457-foot homer off the Mariners' Wade Miley.
