Cincinnati Bearcats fans won't find out the kickoff time for their Homecoming game at Nippert Stadium until Sunday, Oct. 18.
The Big 12 is pushing a slate of games to a six-day window, so the Bearcats won't know until after they've played their Saturday, Oct. 17 game at West Virginia.
FanDuel Sports Network has UC as a 2.5-point underdog in Morgantown this coming weekend as the 4-1 Bearcats come off a bye. West Virginia hosted Arizona Oct. 10 and lost 52-31. The Mountaineers also lost at Iowa State 45-42 and at home to Oklahoma State 41-24 in recent weeks to put their record at 3-3.
UC lost at Arizona 34-7Oct. 3 in their most recent game. Both teams fell victim to the quarterback play of Noah Fifita.
Appeal of Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Texas Tech time
In addition to being 5-0 and ranked No. 10 in the
country, the Red Raiders obviously share some history with UC over the Brendan Sorsby transfer. Though he's ineligible to play, rest assured there's some bad blood on the visiting side.
Also, the night before, the Bearcats hold their James P. Kelly UC Athletic Hall of Fame inductions. Naismith Hall of Fame basketball coach Bob Huggins, future NFL Hall of Famer Jason Kelce, and former NFL player and Philadelphia Eagles executive Connor Barwin, UC track and field's Loretta Blaut and Wayne Mason, UC baseball's Mike Kinnett and soccer goalkeeper Christy Hoffman are all being inducted. Receiving the Bob Goin Award is Senior Associate AD/Athletic Trainer Bob Mangine.
Obviously, a win on induction weekend and Homecoming would be icing on the cake. Texas Tech hosts Arizona State Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m., so UC fans and staffers can monitor that game after the Bearcats and Mountaineers do battle at noon.
Wins by both teams would likely mean a preferential TV spot and time.
