As the Cincinnati Bengals were enjoying an impressive first half during their NFL Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Paycor Stadium, some on social media were sharing pregame remarks from CBS analyst and former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
"I love Joe's mentality this offseason," Wilson said on CBS. "His presence, and how focused he was and he just seems like he really wants to compete. I think he's tired of losing. He said that a few times. He's really focused on making sure this is that special year. Listen, if it doesn't go well in Cincinnati this year, I'm just telling you right now Joe Burrow's gone. I think he wants to leave. And what's gonna be interesting is, is where does he go? There's
some great teams that need a quarterback."
Burrow was 14-of-20 for 133 passing yards with a touchdown, adding three carries for 20 rushing yards as the Bengals jumped out to a 24-10 lead at the half.
In December 2024, then-Steelers QB Wilson passed for 414 yards with three touchdowns against the Bengals. It was the third 400-yard passing game of his career and second-highest total in a regular-season game in his career.
