Actor, TikTok star, author and transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney recently visited her alma mater: the University of Cincinnati.
Mulvaney, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater from UC in 2019, visited the university's College-Conservatory of Music to discuss her career, offer advice and answer students' questions, according to a Facebook post from the university.
The Oct. 2 post included a quote from Mulvaney that reads, "Every single thing I’ve done since leaving this school still makes me think: Having a musical theatre degree is the best degree in the world."
Who is Dylan Mulvaney?
Dylan Mulvaney is an actor, content creator and trans rights activist from San Diego, California, who has more than 11 million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined.
Mulvaney, who uses she/her and they/them pronouns, is an alumna of UC's College-Conservatory of Music, graduating with a BFA in musical theater in 2019.
After graduating, Mulvaney appeared as Elder White in the Broadway touring production of "The Book of Mormon." In March 2022, Mulvaney publicly came out as a transgender woman and launched the TikTok series "Days of Girlhood."
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of her transition, Mulvaney put on a live variety show at Rockefeller Center called "Dylan Mulvaney’s Day 365 Live!" All proceeds from the event were donated to The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ+ youth.
In 2023, Mulvaney visited the White House for a NowThis News forum with President Joe Biden, walked in her first New York fashion week show and made her Grammys red carpet debut. She released her debut memoir, "Paper Doll: Notes from a Late Bloomer," in March 2025.
Mulvaney made her official Broadway debut earlier this year when she played Anne Boleyn in the hit musical "Six" at the Lena Horne Theatre in New York City, per UC's website.
