The nationally watched race for Ohio's 1st Congressional District seat is close, according to a new poll.
Quantus Insights, a polling and election prediction company based in London, found that Cincinnati Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman has a narrow lead over Republican candidate Eric Conroy in a poll released Aug. 26.
The company surveyed 509 likely voters from Aug. 21 to Aug. 24 and found that 46.5% support Landsman while 42.7% support Conroy. 9.6% of those surveyed were undecided.
The poll's margin of error was 4.6 percentage points.
Ohio's 1st District includes Clinton County, Warren County and parts of Hamilton County. Ohio Republican legislators redrew the lines last year so that the district now leans more Republican than before.
The poll found
that 46% of those surveyed said the economy, jobs and inflation matter most to them. Immigration and border security came second, with about 15% of respondents saying it mattered most to them. About 10% of respondents said national security and foreign policy matters most.
The 1st District is one of 36 Democrat-held seats the National Republican Congressional Committee is targeting. Swing Left, a nonprofit organization that supports Democrats running for office, has identified Landsman's seat as one of 16 "must-hold" districts in the midterm election.
