The Dyrt, a campsite-finding website, released its 2026 list of the Top 10 Best Places to Camp in the U.S., based on reviews and ratings from its camping community. Ohio's Sandy Springs Campground in Stout ranked No. 10, marking its third consecutive appearance in the annual rankings and making it the only Ohio campground to crack this year's Top 10.

So what makes Sandy Springs one of the country's top campgrounds? Here's what put it on this year's list.

Why Sandy Springs Campground ranks among the nation's best

Located along the Ohio River in the small town of Stout, Ohio, Sandy Springs Campground and Cabins snagged the No. 10 spot, having

stood out for its river views, amenities and hospitality.

One reviewer praised the family owners for treating guests "like an extension of family" and highlighted the riverfront views and full-hookup RV site.

This isn't the first time Sandy Springs Campground has appeared in the Top 10 of The Dyrt's rankings. It placed No. 2 in 2025 and No. 6 in 2024.

The family-owned campground along the Ohio River offers 40 full-hookup sites, a shower house, camp store, playground and boat ramp, according to the Ohio tourism site. Rates range from $35 to $125. The campground also allows RVs, pets and campfires.
