Dense fog followed by a chance for strong thunderstorms and below-normal temperatures are forecast for Greater Cincinnati this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, areas of dense fog could reduce visibility to less than a half-mile through midmorning Friday, Aug. 21. Motorists should use extra caution and be prepared for rapidly changing visibility.
Otherwise, quiet weather is expected through the rest of Friday.
A few strong storms could develop Saturday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through the region. The primary threat is damaging wind gusts, though some storms may also produce hail.
Temperatures are expected to remain below normal through early next week.

Friday: Areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind.
Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low of around 66. Calm wind.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4 p.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch are possible.
