Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins made a remarkable touchdown catch from quarterback Joe Burrow late in the second quarter of the team's NFL Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
It was among the most impressive NFL catches by Higgins.
"Spectacular!" CBS play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle said during the broadcast. "It was like a pop fly."
"Are you kidding me?" analyst Ross Tucker added. "That the 6-foot-4 guy just caught that on his butt. That is not how they drew it up. But when you have a big body like that, it works."
"Back-to-back weeks where a Bengals' wide receiver makes a remarkable catch right by the pylon," Tucker added. "That is unbelievable."
In March 2025, Higgins agreed to a four-year contract extension
with the team. Higgins, Cincinnati's second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, is entering his seventh NFL season.
During the 2025 season, Higgins was inactive for the Bengals' Week 15 game against Baltimore. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Higgins returned to concussion protocol after the team's Week 14 loss to the Bills.
ESPN's Adam Schefter questioned whether Higgins should have remained in the game at Buffalo's Highmark Stadium after appearing to hit his head several times and going to the blue medical tent for evaluation twice. During the second quarter, Higgins went down hard and hit his head on the turf trying to make a catch, pointing to his head after sitting up.
Higgins also hit his head hard on the turf after a catch during the fourth quarter in Buffalo.
During the game in Buffalo, Higgins made a remarkable touchdown catch from quarterback Joe Burrow to give the Bengals a 14-3 lead. He added a highlight-reel, one-handed TD catch in the fourth quarter.
Higgins suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of the team's NFL Week 12 loss to New England at Paycor Stadium.
Higgins' streak of consecutive home games with a touchdown catch ended at nine, and he did not play in the Bengals' Week 13 win against Baltimore.
Steelers defensive back Joey Porter Jr. didn't make his season debut against Cincinnati, despite having provided bulletin-board material with smack talk during the week directed toward Bengals receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
The Steelers were without running back Rico Dowdle (toe). Running back Jaylen Warren, receiver Michael Pittman, and cornerback Jamel Dean were listed as questionable on the team's final injury report ahead of the game.
