The Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) are coming off a 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins (0-5) and are now on the bye week. QuarterbackJoe Burrow threw four touchdowns in the win, the defense had three turnovers, and kicker Evan McPherson set the franchise record for consecutive field goals made.
The Bengals also had a balanced offense with 32 passing attempts vs. 31 rushing attempts and gained 190 yards through the air vs. 117 on the ground.
Cincinnati currently sits in last place in the AFC North but has only played one division game thus far. The same goes for the rest of the division, which is led by the Ravens at 4-1 after an overtime win on Oct. 12 over the Atlanta Falcons.
Where does that leave the Bengals in the NFL power rankings? Currently lumped
with two division foes near the middle of the league as if the AFC North outside of Baltimore is three shades of the same color.
NFL power rankings for AFC North teams
- Baltimore Ravens: 13th.
- Cleveland Browns: 16th.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: 17th.
- Cincinnati Bengals: 18th (up from 20th a week ago).
Here's what USA TODAY Sports' Nate Davis had to say about the Bengals: "Given what they're getting from RB Chase Brown, 74 yards per game from scrimmage and 3.9 per touch, this is probably a team that should be inquiring about the availability of, say, Titans RB Tony Pollard."
