Cincinnati Children's will start providing health care services to children at Colerain and Northwest high schools this academic year, hospital officials announced this week.
The Mobile Care Center will see up to 14 students per school visit, alternating visits between the two schools on the second Wednesday of each month. The first stop will be Sept. 9 at Colerain High, followed by an Oct. 14 stop at Northwest High, according to a Cincinnati Children's press release.
Children ages 12 to 21− both enrolled students and those who are not enrolled but live within the district − can schedule appointments with the Mobile Care Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Colerain High School, 8801 Cheviot Road - Sept. 9 / Nov. 11 / Jan. 13 / March 10 / May 12 / July 14.
- Northwest High School, 10761 Pippin Road - Oct. 14 / Dec. 9 / Feb. 10 / April 14 / June 9 / Aug. 11.
- Services: Annual checkups, preventive care, sports and school physicals, vaccines, bloodwork, asthma, acne, nutritional health, vision checks, strep and flu testing, mental health such as depression or anxiety, and work permit physicals.
An appointment is required to be seen at either school and can be scheduled through the MyChart
app for existing patients, or for new patients by calling (513) 636-4681 or scheduling online at Contact Us | Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine.
Since launching in 2019, Cincinnati Children's Mobile Care Center has helped more than 4,500 patients, delivering accessible pediatric services directly to Cincinnati schools, neighborhoods and communities. The 39-foot-long care center on wheels features exam rooms and diagnostic equipment, along with triage and lab areas. It is also wheelchair accessible.
“By partnering with schools and communities, we can remove barriers to care, build trust with patients and families, and create a more convenient path to the preventive and primary care services that help young people thrive,” said Becky Taylor, manager of the Mobile Care Center.
The hospital also has several school-based clinics, located at Hughes STEM High School, South Avondale School, Rockdale Academy and others.
