If you tune into WLWT-TV (Channel 5) for your weather report, you might have missed a familiar face: Randi Rico.
The meteorologist, who's been the "source for Cincinnati's weather first thing in the morning since 2007," had been missing from the morning newscast for about a month, and viewers started taking notice.
She returned to her spot July 27.
"Hey! It's me! I'm back on your TV," Rico said in a July 25 Facebook post. "After a month off recovering from shoulder surgery, I am back in the 'sling' of things on WLWT."
"We didn't get the memo you were going to be out. We've been worried sick on your whereabouts. (And by "we", I mean me & the neighbors.) We missed ya," one person commented on Rico's Facebook page.
Rico detailed the procedure in her
Facebook comments, saying she had surgery on her labrum. "Sliced off the bicep and reattached it," she said.
Anchors Kelly Rippin and Steven Albritton welcomed Rico back during their newscast, according to Rippin's July 27 Facebook post.
"The people have asked. We have answered. Worry no more because…RANDI RICO IS BACK," Rippin wrote.
