Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah has announced his retirement from the NFL after a 10-year career, spending the first seven in orange and black.
He was the Bengals' 157th pick in the 2015 NFL draft out of Auburn University.
After appearing in just five games as a rookie, Uzomah quickly established himself as a reliable tight end and blocker. He was an integral piece of the Bengals' run to Super Bowl LVI in 2022, recording career highs with 49 receptions, 493 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

He played for the New York Jets in 2022 and 2023, and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, but his production quickly declined as he appeared in just seven games for the Eagles in his final season. He finished his career with 113 games played, 192 catches, 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns.
