An immersive murder mystery dinner show that impressed investors on ABC's "Shark Tank" is coming to Cincinnati.
The Murder Mystery Co. will bring whodunits to Dead Low Brewing on Kellogg Avenue starting in October, American Immersion Theater, which owns The Murder Mystery Co., announced in a release.
The Murder Mystery Co., which puts on shows across the country, received national attention in 2024 when it appeared on "Shark Tank." While each investor responded positively to the company, guest investor and American producer Jason Blum bought in.
"I am the king of horror," Blum said. "I've made almost every horror movie you've ever seen, and I would imagine there's a lot of crossover between people who like to go to horror movies and people who like immersive
entertainment."
While that may be the case, The Murder Mystery Co. presents itself as more fun and comedic than scary.
The company went on to open an award-winning off-Broadway murder mystery dinner production in late 2024.
"Opening off-Broadway ... was amazing," Scott Cramton, founder of American Immersion Theater, said in the release. "However, I’m a Midwestern guy, and my biggest dream is to take this brand of entertainment to the kind of people that grew up as I did," the Detroit native said.
So, how does it work? Through actors and attendees, the story of a murder mystery will unravel. When guests arrive, they will be assigned roles. Some will be detectives who investigate the crime and work to catch the "murderer." Some will be suspects and given information for their role and costumes. Professional actors will usher the story along. And all of this will occur over a three-course meal.
It's essentially a live-action version of the game "Clue" − but with a twist. Each show has a different theme that will transport you to an over-the-top setting, from a masquerade ball to old Hollywood.
Show dates and times
- Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Theme: Modern Billionaire's Masquerade Ball. (SOLD OUT)
- Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Theme: 1930s Old Hollywood.
- Friday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Theme: Holiday Party.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m., but the company asks guests to arrive by 7 p.m. To be seated with your party, make sure to stand in line together.

Tickets cost $59 before taxes and fees. With taxes and fees, the price is $66.08.

Do you need to dress up?
Most attendees dress up for the show, but dinner casual is acceptable. The guest wearing the best costume will win an award.
What is the menu?
Drinks will be available for purchase at a cash/credit card bar. The three-course menu includes:
First course: The choice between a house salad or chopped Caesar salad.
Second course (served buffet style): The choice between chicken or pork sliders, or a selection of pizzas. Sides include Saratoga chips and beer mac-n-cheese.
Third course: The choice of ice cream or sorbet.
