Cincinnati Music Festival takes over Downtown streets this weekend.
The annual festival is July 23-25 and features performances from Charlie Wilson, Tyrese, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, SWV, Nelly and more.
In the past, the music festival has been the largest annual weekend driver of tourism in the area
, which means several streets will close around Downtown to accommodate the event and safely manage crowds.If you're getting your groove on at Cincinnati Music Festival or just traveling through downtown Cincinnati this weekend, here's what you should know.
Cincinnati Music Festival road closures
According to the city of Cincinnati, the following streets will close Friday and Saturday during the times listed below:
- Elm Street: Closedsouth of Second Street from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Freedom Way: Closedbetween Elm Street and Marian Spencer Way starting at 2 a.m. Thursday.
- Race Street: Closed between Third Street and Second Street from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Race Street: Closedsouth of Second Street starting at 2 a.m. Thursday.
- Rosa Parks Street: Closedsouth of Second Street at 2 a.m. Thursday.
- Joe Nuxhall Way: Closedsouth of Second Street from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The following streets will also close by 11 p.m. to allow attendees to exit the festival:
- Central Avenue: Southbound closed south of Seventh Street.
- Third Street: Eastbound closed east of Clay Wade Bailey Bridge.
- Walnut Street: Closed south of Third Street.
- Gest Street: Southbound closed south of Third Street.
- Mehring Way: Eastbound closed at Freeman Avenue.
- Elm Street: Closed between Second and Fourth streets.
- Ramp LL: Closed,
- East Pete Rose Way: Closed westbound and closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way.
- Mehring Way Garage Exits:
- East of Central Avenue: Traffic will exit to eastbound Mehring Way only.
- West of Central Avenue: Traffic will exit to westbound Mehring Way only.
Cincinnati Police Department officers will be on-site to help maintain pedestrian and motorist safety. Motorists are advised to be cautious around the event and to seek alternate routes if possible.
