Music and football fans alike have been anxiously waiting to see who will headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show.
Earlier this year, global superstar Bad Bunny took the stage at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, making history as the most-watched performance globally. And based on the most recent halftime show, this year's announcement appears to be behind schedule.
The past six out of the seven performers were revealed in September. Now in October, it's likely the announcement could come any day, but who would it likely be?
Here's what we know about the next Super Bowl headliner.
When is the Super Bowl 2027?
For some couples, the 2027 Super Bowl couldn't have fallen on a worse date: Feb. 14.
That's right, Super Bowl 61 will be played on Valentine's Day 2027. It
will behosted at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for a second time.
Opened in 2020, SoFi Stadium has quickly established itself as one of the premier facilities in the league. With a construction budget exceeding $5 billion and a desirable locale, the venue is poised to host numerous future events.
Who selects the Super Bowl halftime headliner?
Rap legend Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, has chosen the halftime performer since 2020. The year before, through his entertainment company, Roc Nation, the emcee inked a deal with the NFL to serve in an advisory role to help select music for the league’s flagship events, such as the Super Bowl.
According to a July 2026 report from Kalshi, a prediction and betting platform, traders expect Jay-Z himself, Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus to be picked to headline the show.
Who is rumored to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show?

The biggest name floating around as the headliner is Miley Cyrus.
An unverified image claiming that Apple Music leaked an announcement showing what appears to be a silhouette resembling Miley was posted and deleted. However, no official confirmation of that has occurred.
Cyrus also added fuel to the rumor mill on Oct. 6 when she posted a photo of herself captioned, "Bowl rehearsals. See you soon," sparking speculation that she'd headline this year's NFL championship game. However, fans quickly connected that her message referred to her upcoming live performances at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 16 and 18.

Social media users have also speculated about other potential headliners like Beyoncé with Jay Z, Drake, Rihanna and Taylor Swift.
TMZ also reported in September that it allegedly received information from sources that Harry Styles and Justin Bieber are "on Roc Nation's short list." The outlet claimed sources told them neither Styles nor Bieber had been approached, and both are "unlikely to take the gig if they are finally approached."
