to usher in season 52. New York Knicks star and 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson will take over Studio 8H on Sept. 26. It will be the point guard's first time hosting the show.

Yes, after a months-long hiatus, "SNL" will return to our screens with a brand new season.
New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is slated to host the Sept. 26 season 52 premiere, becoming the first NBA player to host the late-night comedy show since LeBron James hosted season 33 back in 2007.
This episode marks the 30-year-old's hosting debut. He is also the fifth pro basketball player to ever host the show, including four-time host Charles Barkley.
Who is the musical guest for 'Saturday Night Live' on Sept. 26?
The girl group Katseye will be the first musical guests for "Saturday Night Live" season 52. Their appearance marks the first time the group will perform on the late-night comedy show.
The group, whose members hail from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States, is known for hits such as "Animal," "Pinky Up" and "Gabriela."
Historically, Katseye has been made up of six members – Daniela, Lara, Megan, Yoonchae, Manon and Sophia – but two of its members, Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza, are currently on hiatus from the group.
Katseye has taken the music world by storm. This year, the group took home all three American Music Awards they were nominated for and even performed at Coachella. Their "SNL" performance comes in support of their latest EP "Wild," which debuted in August.
'SNL' hosts announced for season 52 so far
Here are the first four "Saturday Night Live" season 52 hosts and musical guests:
- Sept. 26: Jalen Brunson and Katseye.
- Oct. 3: Dakota Johnson and Turnstile.
- Oct. 10: Shane Gillis and Rosalía.
- Oct. 31: Inde Navarrette and Gracie Abrams.

How to watch 'Saturday Night Live' on Sept. 26
All episodes of "SNL" premiere Saturday nights at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Those wanting to stream the show live can do so with a Peacock premium subscription, or stream new episodes the next day with a basic Peacock subscription.Hulu + Live TV subscribers, or anyone with a streaming service that offers live TV capabilities, can also stream the show live on Saturday nights.
