Apple picking is a fun item for your fall bucket list.
But be wary: This year's weather affected several orchards in the Cincinnati area. Some of your favorite places closed pick-your-own apple season early or canceled it entirely. Other orchards that used to offer pick-your-own apples no longer do. A quick Google search of "u-pick apple orchards near me" can give you inaccurate answers. (Trust me, I tried it!)

Apple picking in Greater Cincinnati
Ohio
- A&M Farm Orchard: 22141 Ohio 251, Midland.
- Pringles Orchard: 2697 Pringle Road, Goshen.
Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon offered u-pick apples earlier this year, but it's unclear if they will have any more u-pick dates this season. The Enquirer reached
out for more information.
Hidden Valley Orchards in Lebanon is not offering u-pick apples this season but will next year. The orchard does offer u-pick sunflowers and pumpkins, however.
Simmons Farms in Bethel, which was previously listed on a roundup of u-pick orchards, doesn't list u-pick apples on its website. The Enquirer reached out for more information.
Kentucky
McGlasson Farms in Hebron closed its apple orchard in mid-September.
Indiana
- Salatin's Orchard: 10514 Chesterville Road, Moores Hill.
Beiersdorfer Orchard in Guilford no longer offers u-pick apples.

Ohio
- Karnes Orchard: 8200 Worley Mill Road, Hillsboro.
- Tuken's Orchard & Winery: 15725 Dayton Eaton Pike, West Alexandria.
Monnin's Fruit Farm in Dayton is mostly picked. Peifer Orchards in Yellow Springs canceled its u-pick apples this season because a late spring freeze limited supply. Wesler Orchards in New Paris also canceled u-pick this year because of a heavy frost.
Kentucky
- Eckert's Orchard: 1396 Pinckard Pike, Versailles.
Hidden Hollow Orchard in Louisville closed its u-pick orchard earlier this year. Evans Orchard & Cider Mill in Georgetown announced that its u-pick availability is much more limited this season because of the extreme heat and heavy rains this year.
Indiana
- Huber's Orchard & Winery: 19816 Huber Road, Borden.
- McClure's Orchard/Winery: 5054 U.S. 31, Peru.
