U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio asked the distinguished Dr. Anthony Fauci, “Who the f--- do you think you are?" I want to ask our distinguished senator: Who does he think he is?
While Dr. Fauci has an
exemplary 38-year career as a scientist, Moreno has a distinguished career as a car salesman.
The COVID-19 pandemic was horrible. In hindsight, I think everyone can agree that many things could have been done better. Mistakes were made by many people, but all of this is known in hindsight.
The U.S. had a higher per capita death rate than most (if not all) developed countries because our response to COVID was so slow and the information being communicated by the science community and the political community was so disjointed and contradictory.
Why isn’t Moreno looking at the ways that we can be better prepared for the next pandemic (which I believe will happen) so that we are not the developed country with the most deaths next time? Instead, he and his Republican cohorts are trying to trap the man, who, with President Donald Trump, did one of the greatest things during the pandemic: Operation Warp Speed.
Moreno should be thanking Dr. Fauci for the work he did and asking him questions about how we can avoid the mistakes that were made.
Sen. Moreno, I’m embarrassed and ashamed of your treatment of Dr. Fauci at that sham of a hearing. If you’re so interested in exposing lies and corruption, could you please take a look at the politician enriching himself and his family to the tune of billions of dollars? Could you do something to stop the war being fought without authorization? Could you take back control of the power of the purse, which is supposed to belong to your branch of government to begin with?
In other words, could you stop being a puppet and work for the people of the state of Ohio?
