An 85-year-old man is dead after a collision in the area of Fairfield Township on Saturday afternoon.
Fairfield Township officers were dispatched to a call for an unconscious person at approximately 2:53 p.m. Aug. 29, police said in a news release. Officers traveled eastbound on Millikin Road and approached Greatus Drive with their emergency lights and sirens on.
As the officers drove down Millikan Road, multiple vehicles traveling in the opposite direction slowed and moved over to the right side of the lane. One of those vehicles was a 2019 Acura RDX, driven by Logan Stone, 85, whose wife was sitting in the front passenger seat, the release said.
A Lincoln Navigator, which was also traveling westbound on Millikan Road, then struck the rear of
Stone's Acura, causing it to spin and come to a rest in a yard on the north side of the roadway. The Lincoln rolled and came to a final rest a couple driveways down.
Emergency crews transported Stone, his wife and the driver of the Lincoln to University of Cincinnati West Chester Hospital for treatment. Stone's wife and the driver of the Lincoln were stable, but Stone was in critical condition and was taken by air to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he died early morning on Aug. 30, according to the release.
Police said all three occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Airbag deployment was reported on the Lincoln.
No arrests have been reported as of early afternoon Aug. 30. The crash remains under investigation.
