Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was released Oct. 9 by the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced.
Dalton turns 39 years old later this month.
In September, Dalton entered the Eagles' Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears in relief of starting QB Jalen Hurts, and threw an interception in the end zone in the second quarter.
It's Dalton's only pass attempt
of the 2026 season.Earlier in the month, Dalton, who was vying to back up Hurts, earned the No. 2 job over third-stringer Tanner McKee when McKee was among the team's inactives for their season opener.
Dalton was 12-of-19 for 104 passing yards with a touchdown during the team's third and final preseason game against the Bengals at Lincoln Financial Field.

In March, Dalton was traded by the Carolina Panthers to Philly for a 2027 seventh-round draft pick.
Dalton played in 13 games over the past three seasons for the Panthers.
Dalton started against the Bengals during the 2024 season for the fourth time since Cincinnati released him in 2020.
In June 2025, Dalton played dodgeball at a Savannah Bananas game at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
