Procter & Gambleupdated its worldwide headcount in a regulatory filing on Aug. 4, showing it has cut about 5,000 jobs a year after announcing a restructuring program.
The Cincinnati-based consumer products giant disclosed it employs a total of 104,000 workers, down 4.6% from the 109,000 it had a year ago.
P&G officials said Aug. 4 the Greater Cincinnati region continues to employ more than 10,000 P&G workers. The company’s hometown could be more deeply affected by the cuts that are targeting nonmanufacturing jobs since most of the local jobs are office workers.
In June 2025, the maker of Tide detergent and Pampers diapers announced a two-year plan to cut 7,000 office jobs worldwide. The plan was to use the savings to fund investment in product
innovation company executives hope will reinvigorate sales performance.

At a June investor conference, executives said P&G was “on track” to cut more than 3,500 by the end of the first year of the cutbacks.
On the July 29 conference call, chief financial officer Andre Schulten confirmed "half of the headcount reduction has been executed." The same day, P&G reported an annual profit of $16 billion on sales of $87 billion. Organic sales growth, a key metric, increased 1% in the previous fiscal year, down from 2% last year when slowing sales prompted the current restructuring.
Looking ahead, P&G forecast organic sales to grow 1% to 3% in new fiscal year that began July 1. Organic sales growth excludes the impact from foreign exchange, acquisitions and divestitures.
Based in downtown Cincinnati, P&G’s other products include Gillette razors, Pantene shampoo, Olay moisturizer, Mr. Clean household cleaners and Vicks cough medicine.
