Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki was injured during the second quarter of the team's NFL Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
Gesicki took a big hit from multiple Steelers after a reception from Joe Burrow. He remained on the field, started to get up, took a knee for several moments, and walked off the field under his own power.
Gesicki went to the blue medical tent
for evaluation."He got crunched by both (Jamel) Dean and (Patrick) Queen as soon as he caught that," CBS analyst Ross Tucker said.
Gesicki is in his ninth NFL season, third with the Bengals.
In October 2025, the Bengals placed Gesicki on the reserve/injured list with a left pectoral injury he suffered during the second quarter of the team's NFL Week
6 loss to Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
Head coach Zac Taylor announced that Gesicki was expected to be out "for a while." Gesicki returned for the Bengals' Week 12 loss to New England at Paycor Stadium.
Gesicki also was injured during the third quarter of the team's NFL Week 5 loss to Detroit at Paycor Stadium. Gesicki returned to the game during the fourth quarter.
Carolina Panthers safety Xavier Woods was fined $11,255 for a late hit on Gesicki during the third quarter of the Bengals' Week 4 win in Charlotte.
