City officials will give an update this afternoon after police shot a man during a reported kidnapping on Saturday.
Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, City Manager Sheryl Long and Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie will hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 16 to update the public about the police shooting.
Around 4 p.m. Aug. 15, Cincinnati police received a 911 call reporting a kidnapping. Officers identified a car associated with the abduction in Westwood, but police spokesman Brad Underwood said the driver refused to pull over.
A pursuit ensued into Green Township. The driver crashed in the area of Werk Road and Visitation Drive. Underwood said the driver exited the car and shots were fired.
Both Cincinnati and Green Township police were on the
scene. It is unclear who shot the man or how many shots were fired.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was hospitalized. His condition is unknown.
The victim of the abduction was also hospitalized and their condition is unknown as well, Enquirer media partner Fox19 reported.
