Sheetz, a Pennsylvania-headquartered convenience store chain, opened its closest location to Cincinnati last month with a new Middletown store.
So far, Sheetz stores have opened north of Cincinnati and near Dayton. But the company said two more locations are planned closer to the city.
In an email to The Enquirer, Sheetz public affairs manager Nick Ruffner confirmed Sheetz is planning new stores: one on Ashwood Drive in Blue Ash and another in Liberty Township.
"As we expand further into western Ohio and communities near our current footprint, we remain committed to being the best neighbor we can be, continuing the standard that Ohio communities have come to expect from us for nearly three decades," Ruffner wrote. "We'll have more to share about
our expansion in this region in the future."
For Middletown, Sheetz marks the first completed project at Renaissance Pointe, a $200 million development on a 50-acre lot located alongside Interstate 75. The mixed-use hub will house restaurants, housing and an indoor concert and hockey arena.
Greater Cincinnati has become a hotspot for gas stations with made-to-order food with the arrival of Wawa, Sheetz and QuikTrip. At this point, roughly a dozen Wawa gas stations dot the Cincinnati area. QuikTrip has opened three stores, all in suburbs north of Cincinnati.
